Where it All Began

From basement beginnings to a global network: Explore our story

1996

Hanover was founded by James Emmett with just three employees in a basement office without computers or internet access.

1997

We doubled our revenue within a year and expanded our team from 3 to 10 employees. The company moved from the basement offices to 46 Cannon Street.

2011

Hanover acquired its first US business, LeaderFinder, opening its first office in the US in New York City.

2017

Hanover expanded its presence in the US by acquiring OPUS Executive Search and opening its West Coast office in Los Angeles.

2018

Hanover expanded its service proposition beyond purely executive search into leadership solutions through the acquisition of Talent ID, now known as Hanover Talent Solutions.

2021

Hanover entered into a strategic partnership with City CV to provide outplacement solutions, CV/resume writing services, interview training, career coaching, and more.

2022

Hanover expanded their US presence yet again and added an office in Chicago.

2024

We now have 60+ employees across the globe, 8 offices, and we’re still growing.
