John Chaintreuil

John is based in Los Angeles and joined Hanover in 2021. As an Associate Partner, John oversees Executive Search projects on behalf of asset management, banking, private equity, real estate, and insurance clients. He has delivered placements in a wide variety of functional areas, including roles in technology, accounting, finance, operations, investment analysis, and trust administration. Prior to Hanover, he worked for over 18 years at a Los Angeles-based boutique executive search firm leading accounting and finance searches across all industry types. Originally from Western New York, John graduated from Cornell University with a degree in Industrial and Labor Relations. Outside of work, he keeps busy by coaching youth sports, taking on various home improvement projects, and hiking with his wife and two kids.

What do you enjoy about executive search?
A great job can make such a difference in someone’s life, both personally and professionally. Likewise, the right employee can truly transform a company. My role in connecting the perfect person with the perfect job at the perfect time has been, and continues to be, a great thrill.

What did you want to be when you were younger?
As a young kid, all I wanted to be was a professional athlete. Some days I’d imagine being second baseman for the New York Yankees, and other days it was being the quarterback for the Buffalo Bills. Sadly, the pro scouts never came to my backyard.
